  • A group of Buddhist monks with their rescue dog Aloka will arrive today at Catawba Baptist Church in Rock Hill to share their message of unity — residents may visit them from 6 to 9 p.m. during the 2,300-mile Walk for Peace.  Here Rock Hill

EDUCATION NEWS

  • State Superintendent Ellen Weaver has proposed capping 'golden parachutes' for superintendents to one year's salary or the remaining contract value (whichever is lower) to redirect funds toward educational resources. The proposal would take effect July 1, 2026 if approved by the General Assembly.  Here Rock Hill

  • Camp Canaan in Rock Hill added a new high ropes course on Monday, Jan. 12 that tests balance, coordination + teamwork. The 100-acre island retreat also offered ziplining, kayaking and climbing for adventurers.  Here Rock Hill
