- ➤ State lawmakers are pushing to reclassify kratom as a Schedule 1 drug by proposing House Bill 46-36 that would ban its sale in smoke shops and gas stations. A lawmaker said on Friday the measure comes after concerns that high doses act like opioids — experts note the change may help curb misuse. WSOC-TV
