On March 25, Rock Hill held its annual Volunteer Celebration to honor hundreds of volunteers who provided nearly 18,000 hours of service to Parks, Recreation and Tourism programs.

Awards were presented to volunteers including Halle Russell, Shauntoria Currence, Blake Davis, the 2024 BMX Racing World Championships team, and John Coleman, with remarks from PRT Director Mark Sexton and Mayor John Gettys.

Nathan’s Famous opened its new restaurant in Rock Hill on February 13th, offering a New York-inspired design and a state-of-the-art drive-thru to serve hot dogs, juicy burgers and the unique Rock Hill Ripper.

A Rock Hill man said his colonoscopy found a small polyp—his doctor said it might have turned into cancer—and he wants others to get tested during National Colon Cancer Awareness Month.

He urged residents to follow new guidelines that now recommend starting screening at age 45.

On March 26, Coach Jerry Haugen earned his 900th and 901st wins as Winthrop University baseball clinched a series win over its rivals.

The team will play Macalester today at Haugen Field at Becker Park after the game was moved from March 29 to avoid bad weather.
