CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Police are searching for Denareay Pendergrass (32) in connection with an attempted murder in York after he shot a 44-year-old man on Hickory Lane at 8 p.m. on March 27th and authorities said the victim is expected to survive. WCCB Charlotte
- ➤ Rock Hill Police are investigating a shooting that occurred just after 1 a.m. today on the 2300 block of Eden Terrace where an 18-year-old male was shot in the leg by an unknown suspect while taking out trash. WRHI
- ➤ On Thursday around 8:00 p.m., York Police responded to a call on Hickory Lane where they found a 44-year-old man with multiple wounds to his back who was taken to Piedmont Medical and is expected to survive—investigators later identified 32-year-old Denareay Pendergrass as the suspect and issued warrants for attempted murder and weapon possession during a crime of violence. - ➤ U.S. Rep. Ralph Norman, a Rock Hill developer, said he is 65% likely to join the crowded governor’s race in 2026—calling it his only chance to win the state’s top office. - ➤ On March 27th, the York County Sheriff’s Office held its 5th Awards Banquet at Southern Charm Events in Rock Hill to honor its best officers and workers from 2024—Sheriff Tony Breeden recognized Sgt. Daniel Frame as Deputy of the Year, Detention Officer II Thelma Rochester, and two civilian employees for their bravery including lifesaving acts that saved thirteen lives.
