- ➤ York County Council approved design work for eight Pennies For Progress road projects that voters approved in November—on January 21 the Council backed a $20 million loan to begin work early since tax funds will not come in until October. Staff is working with SCDOT to bid about $15 million in road resurfacing projects that will start later this year, and the loan will be repaid over three years from future tax revenues. WRHI
- ➤ York County Council voted 4-3 to raise new impact fees by $11,000, increasing the charge to $29,640 for single-family homes & $20,796 for apartment units to fund facility construction for the Fort Mill School District. Burke said the fees helped fund the district’s sixth middle school, a new early childhood center & updates to its 10-year facility plan while keeping property taxes stable. Queen City News
