  • Law enforcement in Lake Wylie is investigating 24 car break-ins on February 23 after security footage captured two suspects—one armed and seen dancing—who may be linked to 22 additional incidents, and they urge residents to secure their vehicles and report any suspicious activity.  Here Rock Hill
  • A 41-year-old man was arrested in Rock Hill for fatally stabbing a 37-year-old pregnant woman during a relationship quarrel on May 16 — he fled in the victim’s vehicle and was later caught by Charlotte-Mecklenburg police, with a bond hearing set for 9 a.m. today.  Here Rock Hill

ECONOMY NEWS

  • At a conference held from May 14-16 in Myrtle Beach, state leaders showed that South Carolina’s economy grew to nearly $350 billion with a B+ grade from economists, as they discussed large investments & trade tensions affecting the auto sector.   • Rock Hill School District named Dr. Deborah Elder as the finalist for superintendent after the board voted unanimously on May 16th and authorized contract negotiations — pending successful talks, the board will vote to finalize her hiring on May 28th.  WRHI

  • On May 19, 2025, York County Council reviewed infrastructure projects and debated budget amendments including a recreation tax, approving motions for facility construction and personnel changes while updating roadway projects under the Pennies for Progress program.
