- ➤ Rock Hill Schools unanimously hired Dr. Deborah Elder as superintendent on Wednesday night — she will start on July 1. Elder joins the district after serving as chief operating officer at the Iowa Department of Education. WSOC-TV
- ➤ Rock Hill Schools appointed Dr. Deborah Elder as the new superintendent and she will begin on July 1. She brings experience as the former COO of the Iowa Department of Education and was chosen unanimously by the school board. Here Rock Hill
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Henry McMaster signed a new law on Thursday that makes sharing intimate images online with harmful intent a felony offense—carrying penalties of up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine for a first offense. The General Assembly passed the bill unanimously. WCCB Charlotte

- ➤ Rock Hill residents learned that celebrated coach Jim Baker was inducted into the South Atlantic Conference Hall of Fame on May 29 — a recognition of his long career at Catawba College where he led teams to six regular-season titles and maintained a 94% graduation rate. Here Rock Hill
