  • York County’s boil water advisory for Fort Mill and parts of Tega Cay ended Wednesday after tests showed no dangerous E.coli bacteria. Business owner David Berlin of Whit’s Frozen Custard said he was notified late about the alert—he used boiled water until the warning was lifted and is now back to regular custard production for about 300 weekend customers.  Queen City News
  • Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative celebrated 85 years in August and grew to serve 75,000 customers along 7,500 miles of distribution line. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Officials fixed an old water main—one that broke near US Hwy 21 and Coltharp Road late Saturday—and water tests showed no E. coli, so the boil water advisory for parts of York County was lifted at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.  Queen City News

  • This week, top sports events run from Sept. 4 to Sept. 10 in and around Charlotte with baseball, soccer, football, and field hockey games scheduled at various local venues—events include the Wingate Bulldog Classic and UNC matchups.
