- ➤ Riverstone Logistics announced plans to move its headquarters from Charlotte to Rock Hill with a $16.4 million investment, creating 159 new jobs set to begin operations in July 2026 — the relocation is part of the city’s The Thread revitalization project and aims to boost local economic growth. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Rock Hill School District reported 33 weapons possession incidents from the 2017-18 to 2023-24 school years, making up 53.2% of all regional incidents despite serving just 22.8% of the students. - ➤ On September 17th, The Citadel recognized local cadets and students from Rock Hill and nearby towns on its spring dean’s list by meeting standards of a 3.20 GPA and registration for 12 or more semester hours—ensuring no grade below C or an Incomplete. WRHI
- ➤ The South Carolina Department of Education announced a new curriculum today that highlights the state's key role in the American Revolution. The lessons developed with the American Battlefield Trust will be available as a supplemental resource for teachers and include virtual tours and videos (Palmetto Civics Project) to engage students from kindergarten through high school. - ➤ Winthrop University today launched an online learning initiative to help local and national students access education with more flexible course scheduling.
