- ➤ Lawmakers and state universities met to review campus security after recent shootings, threats and swatting hoaxes raised safety concerns—officials discussed boosting security at large events and working with SLED. They will also consider tougher penalties and extradition measures for those making threats from outside the state. WRHI
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Clemson University is asking residents to report sightings of the two-spotted leafhopper in areas west of Interstate 77 and Interstate 20 to help track its spread. The invasive species threatens cotton and okra crops and is native to the Indian subcontinent — it was first seen in Florida in 2024 and has since spread to Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, and North Carolina.
