CRIME NEWS

  • South Carolina authorities charged six individuals, including three juveniles, in connection with the shooting death of 40-year-old Larisha Sharell Thompson, whose locked vehicle was found on May 2 near Riverside Road in Lancaster County — evidence links the suspects to a burglary and an attempted robbery.  Here Rock Hill
  • Former York County Sheriff Kevin Tolson faced charges after his vehicle veered off Airport Road in Rock Hill on Sunday, July 13, hit a telephone pole and a fence and then fled the scene, with authorities booking him on Monday on counts of striking fixtures and failing to report the crash — the South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating further.  Queen City News
  • Former York County Sheriff Kevin Tolson was arrested today at 11 a.m. by the South Carolina Highway Patrol after allegedly fleeing a wreck along Airport Rd in Rock Hill that struck a telephone pole and fence — he was released on a personal recognizance bond and the investigation is ongoing.  WRHI

  • Longtime Winthrop University Board of Trustees Chair Glenn McCall passed away on July 11.
